FULL-TIME, ONSITE:
SOFTWARE USER TRAINING & SUPPORT
Bookmanager is growing at an unprecedented rate, and our services are highly sought after in the North American bookselling industry. In order to scale effectively, we are looking for another personable and focused addition to our team.

This position involves providing customer service, training, and support for the Bookmanager point-of-sale inventory management software system & e-commerce website for bookstores. Your day-to-day will involve working with users over the phone while remotely connected to their computers, as well as answering support questions via email.

Working with 450+ independent bookstores and hundreds of active publishers in Canada and the USA, your day-to-day encompasses not just the Bookmanager software and website, but all aspects of the bookselling industry. If you have an interest in physical books and the publishing industry in general, or like working hands-on with computers and small business owners, a career with Bookmanager will be engaging and challenging.

Our company prides itself on the outstanding customer support we provide. This position requires an individual who:
  • Likes to teach (assisting our clients can require a lot of patient hand-holding);
  • Likes to problem solve (our software and website have many integrated moving parts that are always evolving. The ability to independently and creatively problem solve is crucial);
  • Is a self-starter (Self-motivated to develop ideas and learn independently to help advance not only their own self, but the whole team and business);
  • Enjoys the challenge of an ever-changing work environment; and
  • Can maintain focus in a lively, and sometimes loud, office environment.

Fun fact: Kelowna's iconic independent bookstore Mosaic Books is owned and operated by Bookmanager, which utilizes and tests all of Bookmanager's services. The software and web tools Bookmanager designs are tested in real-world conditions and rooted in small business practices.

Training for the position will be guided and structured by one of our experienced team members. A little time will be spent in Mosaic Books learning the daily routines and processes, followed by hands-on instruction on how to use the software system. After a few weeks of controlled and isolated training, you will then transition to answering real support calls, but will continue to have immediate support from your training point-person. Training continues thereafter and indefinitely, and is a community driven process. There are always new things to learn, for both new and long-standing employees!
