COVID-19 UPDATE - JANUARY 31, 2022
Friends of the Argo! As of today, we are opening back up for browsing, so come and book-shop to your heart's content! To help keep everyone safe, we're capping it at 5 customers at a time for now and keeping the reduced staffing; thank you for bearing with us.
We will also be open Sundays again starting this weekend (Feb. 6) for our usual pre-lockdown hours of 12 to 5. And of course, we continue to be happy to serve you with pickup and delivery as always. Thanks and see you soon!
All the best,
Moti and Adele
The Argo Bookshop is located on the unceded lands of the Kanien'kehà:ka people, part of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. The area has long been - and continues to be - a gathering place for many First Peoples, including the Huron/Wendat, Abenaki, and Anishinaabeg. The Argo Bookshop enthusiastically stocks a large selection of books by Indigenous authors and strives to directly support Indigenous organizations in our neighbourhood. We invite you to examine your relationship to the land you occupy and to support Indigenous groups active in your area; for organizations near the Argo, you could check out Native Montreal (an organisation that strives to contribute to the holistic health, cultural strength and success of Indigenous families, individuals, and community living in the greater Montrealarea) and Resilience Montreal (a day shelter situated on the corner of Atwater and Sainte Catherine, offering food, a place to sleep, clean clothes, and support to anyone in need).
